Area Rug Dimensions

Frequently Asked Questions

Note: Also visit our ‘glossary’ for other explanations of specifics to rugs and carpets.

Q1. CAN I PURCHASE PRODUCTS DIRECTLY FROM AREA RUG DIMENSIONS VIA TELEPHONE ORDER?
A. Yes you can! In some cases if you are wanting a large rug we can send a smaller one for approval before you commit to the large area rug.

Q2. DOES AREA RUG DIMENSIONS SELL AREA RUGS ONLINE?
A. We strongly recommend that you view the product in person at a local retailer before purchasing. This is because of the difference in computer settings that the colors that you see on your monitor may not accurately portray the color of the actual product. We do not sell any rugs or carpets on-line but you can call and order over the phone or come into the showroom.

Q3. HOW DO I SET UP AN ACCOUNT WITH AREA RUG DIMENSIONS?
A. We do cater to the Professional Design Trade. Just call or come in, we don’t require a credit check if you want to set up a cash account. We also only require a resale tax number only if you want to buy rugs on a tax exempt basis. Most of our Interior Designers don’t have a sales tax resale number and just pay the sales tax as they purchase and get reimbursed from the homeowner.

Q4. WHAT IS REA RUG DIMENSION’S WARRANTY?
A. Stanton provides a one year limited repair or replacement warranty. Stanton warrants to the initial purchaser and original seller that its carpets will be free from manufacturing defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to the original seller. This is a limited warranty and contains specific exclusions and limitations. Liability and exclusive remedy of Stanton under this warranty is limited to actual repair or replacement. Stanton’s total liability shall not exceed the invoice amount to the original seller. Please check with your local dealer for any other specifics.

Q5. WHAT TYPE OF VACUUM IS BEST FOR RUGS AND CARPET?
A. On delicate loop pile constructions, a suction only canister vacuum is best and prevents excess pilling and fuzzing. On cut-pile rugs we recommend a vacuum that uses a rotating brush but use caution and test first to make sure the rotating brush is not too aggressive to result in changing the texture or untwisting the pile.

Q6. WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD FOR SPOT-CLEANING YOUR PRODUCTS?
A. We have a cleaning chart in our “all about rugs” section in this web site but by no means is this chart and information we provide here the absolute end-all-be-all but instead is a basic guide. Please phone us for more information for your specific requirements which are outside the chart we provide.

Q7. DO YOUR AREA RUGS CARRY ANY STAIN RESISTANT COATINGS?
A. Wool carries its own inherent stain resistant property and is commonly referred to as lanolin.

Q8. WHAT PADDING DO YOU RECOMMEND?
A. Most applications call for a ¼ inch high density synthetic fiber pad that “breathes”.

Q9. WHAT IS AN ORIENTAL RUG?
A. By the strictest definition, Oriental rugs are carpets hand knotted only in Asia. Iran, China, India, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Tibet and Nepal are some of the biggest rug exporters.

Q10. WHAT IS A PERSIAN RUG?
A. The Persian rug is a oriental rug but they are made only in Iran (formerly Persia). An authentic Persian rug or carpet is hand knotted. Persian rug designs were once named after the city in which they were created. The most common names are Tabriz, Hamadan, Gabbeh, and Heriz.
